Briar Chemicals has sponsored the Norfolk and Norwich Festival for many years and continued their support this year by hosting a performance by Luke Wright, an award winning poet, theatre maker and broadcaster.
Every May, the arts festival transforms the city and over 75,000 visitors attend a wide range of events and performance. In addition, young people across the region take part in arts workshops and attend special performances.
The festival successfully engages with the Norfolk community by providing access to the Arts through an internationally acclaimed programme of music, theatre, literature, visual arts, circus, dance and outdoor arts.
Tim Green, Site Manager of Briar Chemicals said:
We’re delighted to continue our support this year by sponsoring a performance by Luke Wright. It’s great to see so many world class artists in Norwich again.
Since 2006 Luke Wright has written and performed eight one man shows, touring them to top literary and arts festivals. His live shows are enjoyed by thousands of people across the world every year, where he mixes the wistful with the downright comic to take audiences on an incredible emotional journey.
The Festival is one of the oldest surviving arts festivals in the UK dating back to 1772 when a fund-raising concert was held in Norwich Cathedral. In 1988 it become an annual event and has established a reputation for innovative and inspirational programming as one of the UK’s top four arts festivals.
Norfolk and Norwich Festival is funded and supported by Arts Council England, Norwich City Council and the generous support of other sponsors.
