Chemspec Europe 2016 proves successful for Briar Chemicals

Briar Chemicals exhibited at Chemspec Europe 2016, the international exhibition for Fine and Speciality Chemicals on 1-2 June in Basel, Switzerland.

This idyllic location on the River Rhine borders France, Germany and Switzerland – three of Europe’s strongest countries in the chemical industry.

As a regular exhibitor at Chemspec Europe, Briar Chemicals attend this valuable event each year to meet with a large number of new industry contacts from leading international fine and speciality chemical companies.

Briar’s Head of Commercial, Susan Brench and Commercial Development Manager, Kathryn Richmond reported a successful participation as one of 17 UK companies who joined the Chemical Industries Association on the UK Pavilion.

Chemspec confirmed attendance increased 10.7% from 2015 with 6,388 people at the event. There was also an increase in exhibitors; 394 exhibitors from 24 countries including China, India, Germany, USA and Great Britain.

Susan Brench, Head of Commercial said; “I have been attending Chemspec for almost 30 years and it’s come a long way from a few rooms based at a hotel in Manchester. It’s testimony to the importance of the European chemical industry for the global economy that the event has survived through economic ups and downs and continues to provide a dynamic environment for business development.”

I expect that it will remain as the key industry event in our marketing strategy going forward. We met with a lot of people from across the globe. Briar’s profile is growing strongly as evidenced by the increasing number of targeted project enquiries that we are receiving.

Briar Chemicals sponsored the EFCG summer event held in Basel on 31st May attended by a number of industry contacts. This event provides excellent networking opportunities and a chance for companies with the chemical industry to discuss new ventures.

Chemspec Europe hosts a portfolio of products offering a variety of fine and speciality chemicals, such as agro & food ingredients, pharmaceuticals, household chemicals, cosmetics and water treatment. Alongside the exhibitors, Research and Development is an integral part of the show. A varied selection of conferences and workshops are available throughout the event, with presenters sharing their latest findings from ongoing research and development projects.
